The Beginning of Us: Finding Joy with David
From the day I met David, I was drawn to him. He had a way of brightening every day and making me laugh, and I quickly began to look forward to each chance to see him.
We joked that we were work spouses. It wasn’t long until we were spending time together outside of work too. Our first date was to IHOP, where he quickly learned that I don’t like much food there! On our second date, he asked me what I would like for dinner and I said, “Ribs!” This took him by surprise. I guess BBQ-loving women aren’t all that common! This time, we dined at Trails End BBQ in Owasso.
Each time we were together, we were filled with laughter. On my worst days, he would take me to a park to slow dance to music on his phone. But not a day passed without laughter. It wasn’t long before we evolved into a serious relationship.
This is the thing I prize about our relationship: we truly put each other’s joy as a priority.
