The Proposal – Part 1

On May the 4th, a day celebrated by Star Wars fans around the world, my partner David surprised me with a proposal that left me speechless. Little did I know that this day, known as Star Wars Day, would mark the beginning of our journey towards forever.

The ring David presented me with was no ordinary ring. It was my Grandma Maxine’s ring, a precious heirloom from Granddad Richard Biby. This ring held generations of love stories within its sparkling stones.

As much as I adored this family treasure, the ring I had fallen in love with was a vintage piece that was simply out of reach. But David, being the thoughtful and loving partner that he is, had a plan. Moody’s Jewelry in Tulsa took Grandma Maxine’s ring and used it as the center stone for the ring of my dreams, based on that stunning vintage design.

Not only that, but the wedding band will be made from the promise ring David gave me, symbolizing the journey we’ve taken together so far and the promises we’ve made to each other.

As I look at this ring, I see more than just a beautiful piece of jewelry. I see a symbol of love that has transcended time, connecting generations past with the future we are building together. I am grateful for David’s love, for the opportunity to carry on the legacy of Grandma Maxine and Granddad Richard, and for the promise of forever that lies ahead.

Our engagement is not just a celebration of our love, but a tribute to the enduring power of love itself, a force that binds us all together, across time and space.

May the force be with us, now and always.

You might be wondering why you’re just now hearing about our engagement. After all, David and I have been together for over a decade. The truth is, we’ve always cherished taking things at our own pace, savoring each moment and milestone along the way.

When David proposed on Star Wars Day, it was a magical and deeply personal moment between us. We decided to keep the news to ourselves for a while, relishing this new chapter in our relationship in private. Plus, we wanted to have the engagement ring in hand before sharing our joy with the world!

Our engagement isn’t just about a ring or a moment. It’s about the years of love, growth, and shared experiences that have brought us to this point. We’re excited to embark on this next chapter of our lives together, and we’re grateful for your love and support as we take this journey.

Much Love,

Laurie
